Our shop is located in the Guard Room, which also doubles as the Entrance and Exit to the Fort. In the Fort’s heyday, the Guard Room was not the place to linger as, in the past, those suspected of doing wrong were kept here on a menial diet in the cells. Nowadays, the Guard Room is the place to browse our souvenir collections and take away a memento from your day at the Fort.
For our younger visitors, we stock a large selection of souvenir items, along with a range of military and vintage themed toys and games. We also have a range of children’s camouflage clothing.
If you are an avid collector of books or enjoy a good read, we have a fantastic range covering many subjects which are suitable for all ages from primary school to PhD! You’ll also find plenty of replicas, reproductions and memorabilia from both World Wars as well as educational resources plus posters and stationery.
Our jewellery collection is not to be missed! Our poppy inspired jewellery collection is a firm favourite and you’ll be sure to find something to help keep the spirit of Remembrance alive.
And if you have enjoyed watching our Herdwick sheep during your visit, you might find something just for you amongst the other souvenirs on offer.
Our shop is also open to the public, so if you don’t have time to visit the whole of the Fort, or are simply looking for a unique gift, please feel free to pop in between 10:00 am and 5:00 pm during our open season.
