Did you know that when you purchase a standard entry ticket to explore Newhaven Fort you get unlimited access for the following 12 months?
In addition to a number of incredibly detailed exhibitions, we are lucky to have a fantastic Fort tearoom, an enormous amount of space for picnics (with a 180-degree view of the East Sussex coast) and a brilliant kid’s playground for you and your family to enjoy!
One visit just isn’t enough, that’s why we’ve put together a list of reasons that will keep you coming back!
Tea Rooms
Open daily from 11.00am until 4.00pm (last lunch serving at 3.00pm), our 1940s British Restaurant-inspired tearoom is serving up some delicious light lunches and traditional treats that will give you the energy to keep exploring.
Decked in bunting and featuring a fantastic radio mural, the Fort’s tearoom has everything you need to refresh and refuel, without stepping away from the history.
Outside, our pergola covers a large amount of the surrounding seating which makes the perfect spot for shade in the square.
Looking to soak up the sunshine? Why not grab a takeaway treat and pitch a spot on the grassy clifftops for an unbeatable view?
Views
Embrace the overwhelming sense of freedom from the fresh air at the Fort and take in the incredible 180-degree coastal views covering the South Downs along to Seaford Bay.
Watch the waves crash along the shore and the seagulls float in the wind from a perfect picnic spot at the top of the Fort, or simply take in the sheer size of the site, admiring the ramparts, architecture and hidden tunnel entrances from a height.
