Glory from Defeat: Our Second Dunkirk
Everybody knows about the evacuation of allied troops from Dunkirk in early June of 1940, but did you know that further evacuations occurred nine days later at Veules les Roses in Normandy as soldiers of the 51st Highland Division found themselves cut off and surrounded by German troops? You can find out the full story in Glory from Defeat: Our Second Dunkirk, the new book by local author and historian Dr June Goodfield.
