How to Find Us
The town of Newhaven is situated between Brighton and Eastbourne on the A259 coast road and is linked to Lewes on the A27, via the A26.
Newhaven is well sign posted from the A27 and all approach roads into the town have brown signs directing visitors to Newhaven Fort.
If using satellite navigation our postcode is BN9 9DS
Free parking is available in our visitor car park, which is signposted from Fort Road. Please note that there is a height barrier at the entrance to this car park. If your vehicle is taller than 1.8 metres please call ahead to arrange access.
There are two allocated disabled car parking bays in the old moat (just outside main entrance), which is accessed via Fort Rise, rather than following signs to main car park. Fort Rise is a single lane access road, the entrance to which is to the left of the large sign directing visitors to the main car park.
Trains run regularly to Newhaven Town Station, approximately 1.1 miles (1.8km) from the Fort. Taxis can be picked up outside the station or in the town centre. If on foot head towards the town centre, over the swing bridge and take the first left to walk alongside the river, past Newhaven Marina and on to the Fort.

If coming from Brighton alight from the bus at Lower Place, which is right in the town centre, and head through the town towards the river. You can then walk along the river, past Newhaven Marina and on towards the Fort.
If coming from Eastbourne, alight at Newhaven South Way and walk back along the ring road towards the river for 1 minute then follow the river towards the Fort.
