Access keys enable visitors to navigate websites using a keyboard rather than a mouse. How they work depends on the browser and computer the visitor is using.

Press and hold alt and the access key. Release both keys, then press enter.
For Mozilla Firefox (Windows)
Press and hold alt, shift and the access key.
For Opera (Windows)
Press and hold shift and escape. Release both keys, then press the access key

Hear this website being read aloud using Browsealoud
Our website is speech-enabled, which means you can quickly and easily hear the contents of this website being read aloud using a piece of software called Browsealoud. This helps those with reading difficulties, literacy problems, dyslexia, mild vision difficulties and where English is not their first language.
You may already have Browsealoud installed on your computer, if not, visit http://www.browsealoud.com/ , navigate to the downloads page and select either the PC or Mac version as appropriate. After you download and install Browsealoud you will see a 'blue concentric circles icon' in the system tray at the bottom right hand corner of your screen to tell you that Browsealoud is loaded and ready.
Once the program is installed, words will be instantly turned into speech when you roll your mouse over text within our website. Browsealoud also reads text in Adobe .PDF files attached to our website.
To download British voices, open the Browsealoud application then click on the 'updates' tab. Choose the option to 'get voices, updates and help'. You can then download two British voices, one male and one female.
