Filmspot presents The Great Dictator

Filmspot is a year-round touring celebration of cinema bringing films of all genres to unusual venues throughout East Sussex.

The Great Dictator is a comedy masterpiece and Charlie Chaplin's first talking picture.  Released while America was still at peace with Germany, Chaplin's biting satire was a brave act of defiance against Hitler and Fascism.

Saturday 17th July
1940's Live Swing Jazz Evening

Live Jazz Band playing Glenn Miller style tunes and dance demonstrations from Brighton Boogie 7:30pm - 10:30pm. Licensed bar serving wine, local beer, soft drinks and snacks. 1940’s dress optional.  Tickets - £9.00 (over 16's only), please call 01273 517622 to book or tickets can be purchased directly from the Newhaven Fort shop in advance.


Saturday 24th July
Soundwave Grand Opening Concert

Soundwave 2010 is a celebration of local music and bands and runs from Friday 24 to Saturday 31 July.  Soundwave 2010 kicks off with an amazing night of rock, ska and indie, featuring special guests Vier at Newhaven Fort. Entry: £1 for under 18s, students and unwaged, £2 for adults. Doors open: 7pm to 9.30pm. This is a no alcohol event.
